Dementia Care Advising

Dementia can cause some of the most frustrating and difficult behaviors. We provide solutions to increase care acceptance and effectiveness.

Dementia can be heartbreaking and infuriating. Not to mention exhausting. When you’re struggling to resolve behaviors and feel like nothing works, we will find solutions.

Cognitive Assessments

If you’re concerned about changes in someone’s cognitive abilities and there has not been a clinical diagnosis, we’ll start with a cognitive assessment. This is a quick, multi-question, oral quiz that helps identify the presence and degree of cognitive decline. While this is not an official diagnosis, it helps us begin the process of understanding our client’s cognitive function and capabilities. We will bring this assessment to our client’s physician to have further examination done and a proper clinical diagnosis established.

Answers beyond medication

Many behaviors are effectively managed by medications and a proper medication review and diagnosis from a physician may be helpful. But there is much we can do beyond medications. From client engagement activities to physical behavior deterrents, we will brainstorm solutions that help reduce challenging behaviors and provide you peace of mind.

Dementia care is about understanding our client, their personal history, and meeting them on their level. It’s also about persistent creativity. As dementia progresses, we continue to be innovative in creating solutions that are effective to our clients and their families.
